Keep fighting the good fight Jarmo

At least this news pretty much puts the '' Johanson doesn't want to play for the cbj'' to rest.

How so? According LeBrun, Johansen's camp countered with a two-year, $9 million ask. Johansen and his agent knows that Clb wouldn't pay that amount. And nor should they. It's way too much. It's still posturing by the Johansen camp.

The gap between the two is still considerable considering JD's public announcements that he won't pay what the player's agent is asking.

I'm surprised fans are seeing this as positive news.

Really I think your taking this way out of proportion, of course his agent will counter with something ridiculous , he's doing his job (and maybe also wants to earn a little more extra on his percentage fees).

It is positive news because it shows both sides want to get something done , and if Johanson and a minimum of professionalisms he would of asked for trade .

Hope JD and Jarmo counter with their previous offer. Glad these GMs are pushing back on these RFAs who have 1 good year. Players have minimal leverage, guess they can sit out and go to the KHL.

Same here, players are making great money as ufas, why give up leverage and give that money to them so much earlier? I hope they don't give up more than 3.5 per.

I'm glad Jarmo isn't caving in. I say give the kid 2 years at $3.75 million and call it a day.

I'd say your right. We got away with giving Schwartz 4.7mil over two years, and with Smith and Krugs new contracts Johanson should just settle for what he can get for the next 2 years and then earn his big pay day.

Well Dillon just signed with Dallas, so now Johansen is in Vancouver having to practice by himself, poor guy.

Probably cries himself to sleep each night on the torn up contract offers that Jarmo keeps shredding.
